Nephrology Appt & Getting Sick

Kara went to her new nephrologist (kidney dr) on Monday. Basically all he did was go over her meds and ask a few questions and set up an appt to have another ultrasound of her kidneys since she has not had one in WELL over a year. But as far as he can tell everything looks good. I think Kara picked something up while we were there because she is sick now. She is pale, temp running a little low (she sometimes runs low instead of high when she is sick), trach secretions are green and thick, she has some sort of weird rash on her upper back and the back of her arms, and she is sleeping TONS. I should have known something was coming because she had 2 small seizures on Thursday and she RARELY has them. I am definitely hoping she can kick this at home because it has been right at 1 year since she was in the hospital. So please say a little prayer that she gets well quick.

Timothy is doing great. Spoiled as could be. He is about 19lbs already!!! We are going to change him into his big boy carseat next week because he is about to be to long and outweigh it.

We went for Timothy's 4 month check up yesterday. He is already up to 18lbs and is 25.5 in long! Breastmilk definately agrees with him. He is in 6-9 month clothes already. He is one big and HEALTHY boy! He is eating cereal with juice already. Everyone keeps saying he looks like a 9 month old.

Kara has been hospital free for 1 year this month!!!!!!! That is a HUGE accomplishment for her. She is getting so tall and thin. I have tons of appts I need to set up for her seeing we have not seen a lot of her specialists in pretty close to a year. She has just been doing so well that we have only needed to go in for check ups. We are off to Dallas on February 1st to see her neurologist. It has been way too long since we have seen her. But, Kara is still seizure free!

I started this blog in hopes of being able to do it myself seeing that I can't seem to figure out how to update Kara's website at: http://www.karabethmitchell.com/ But you can go to see anything prior to today there with Kara. We are doing GREAT! Kara seems to be getting so tall and thin these days. She is getting home based services through the school. It has made life so much easier with her therapists and teacher coming to us instead of us going to them. I can hardly believe she will be 5 this year! She also welcomed her little brother, Timothy, tothe family last Sept. He is getting so big so fast. It is so cute to see her hug him when I lay them together.
